Madera Carnival

maderacarnival

Saturday, April 25th
12pm – 3pm
Upper Playground

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! The Madera Carnival is just around the corner. Join us on April 25 from noon to 3 pm for an afternoon of fun, food, and friendship. This year the Carnival falls on Earth Day, so we’re partnering with our friends on the Garden Committee to bring a more environmental tone to the event.

We’ll have all of our favorite games, including the Pie Throw, Ba Ba Bash, Construction Race, Cookie Monster, and much, much more. There is something for everyone, from toddlers to adults, all in a safe environment on the Upper Yard. This year prizes will include starter lettuce plants, donated by the Garden Committee, as well as dozens of great science toys and books from the Exploratorium store.

Yummy food and snacks will be available for purchase, and members of the local police and fire departments will be on hand to answer questions and show off their cool vehicles.

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE! Come out early to help with the garden work party from 9 am to noon, then swing up to the Multipurpose Room for sno-cones and pizza before you join the games. You’ll be helping make Madera an even better place, while enjoying yourself on a lovely Spring day. We look forward to seeing your smiling faces on April 25!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!! All of this doesn’t happen without help, of course. Last year we needed more than 30 parents, grandparents, and older siblings to help staff the many game booths and the food station. If you plan to come to the Carnival, please consider taking a shift running one of the games. The work is easy, fun, and rewarding, and your kids will enjoy cruising the Carnival with their friends in a safe environment. Please email David Beck (dbeck@exploratorium.edu) if you can volunteer, or visit our Carnival sign-up page.

Your help will be greatly appreciated, and you’ll probably make some new friends along the way.

Thanks much!
