Thank you to everyone who came out to last night’s PTA meeting. It was another lively conversation. I like to think it was me, but I think everyone showed up because of the free Legoland tickets.
At the meeting we voted and unanimously endorsed Measure M.
If Measure M passes, it will restore elementary instrumental music programs, attract and retaining quality teachers, improve campus safety and cleanliness. As mentioned in the meeting, the Measure needs a 66% majority to pass. You can read more about it on the website.
If Measure M doesn’t pass, the district will be forced to make severe cuts in its academic classroom programs. These cuts will increase classroom size. Also, there is NO WAY the school board will even consider adding a 6th grade at Madera unless Measure M passes.
Lucy Kirsch and Steven Gaffagan will be passing out Measure M lawn signs next Tuesday (10/19) and Friday (10/22), by the crosswalk in front of school. Get the word out and get out and vote.
By the way, if you are a paid PTA member and weren’t able to make it to the meeting last night, there are still Legoland tickets available. Come to the November meeting to get yours. I’m just going to keep bribing you to come to the meetings!
