Hold those private school applications…. At least for one more year.
It’s looking likely that Madera will expand to K-6th in the 2011/2012 school year. Superintendent Bruce Harter said last night he will present a plan to the school board January 5th to expand the school to include 6th grade, adding up to two portables if needed. Thanks to all the families who attended the meeting, and who have wrote emails to the board showing your support for the addition. And BIG thanks to parent David Miller who has led the charge.
We aren’t out of the woods just yet. The school board will make a final decision at the January meeting. And although it seems like the board will vote in our direction, there is still a lot that could happen between now and then. Keep the emails coming. And mark your calenders to attend the school board meeting. Once again, we’ll need a strong presence at the meeting to encourage the voting. I know we’re an active group, let’s show the school board exactly how active we can be.
