Madera Earth Day Clean Up *updated*

MADERA EARTH DAY is tomorrow! Madera will be an official Earth Day site that coincides with the City of El Cerrito’s Annual Earth Day Celebration.

Free Chinook Book for Earth Day Volunteers!

Thanks to the generosity of El Cerrito Natural Grocery, all work party volunteers will receive a free 2012 Chinook book full of valuable local coupons! Learn more about the guide to living well and the 350+ valuable coupons in the Chinook Book .

Following the work parties, the City is hosting a free lunch at the El Cerrito Community Center from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. for all work party volunteers and their families.
Like previous years, the City expects hundreds of volunteers to participate. Individuals, families and groups are encouraged to register in advance.

On-the-day registration is also available on the morning of the event at the El Cerrito Community Center, 7007 Moeser Lane, El Cerrito.

Families of all ages are welcome and encouraged to come and volunteer! Parents please supervise your children while on school grounds. Gloves to pick up trash and bags will be provided. Please bring work gloves or gardening tools if you feel are needed. The City of El Cerrito welcomes volunteers to help pull weeds, pick up litter along the front and back circle, tidy playground, and promote a healthy environment.

Gloves and bags will be provided. Please bring your own water/beverage to Madera and to consider walking, biking, or carpooling.

Children are welcome to attend and help with the clean-up too! Parents please supervise your children. We’ll be cleaning up the school, not intended as a special weekend play date at Madera!
