Message from Principal Makela: Halloween & Parent Teacher Conferences

Good evening Madera families. This is Ms. Makela, principal, with a couple of important reminders.

First, tomorrow (Wed. Oct 31st) is an exciting day celebrating Halloween at school. Children come to school in their costumes so that they won’t need to change here. Please remember to leave all weapon-like accessories at home and that costumes need to be appropriate for young children at school. Masks can be brought but will be worn only during the parade. As a general rule, if it’s a toy weapon or would frighten the younger kids, keep it at home.
We hope you’ll join us and the El Cerrito High School band for the parade at 1pm on the lower yard.

Thanks for your help in making this a fun celebration!

On Friday (Nov. 2nd) we begin parent/teacher conferences. We are really looking forward to these important meetings to discuss your child’s progress. I want to remind you that Friday will be a minimum day, as will all the school days next week.

Please note that Tuesday, November 6, is a full-conference day and is NOT a school day for children.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call or email.

Have a safe and happy Halloween!
