**Update 1/10**

Heads up on two items:
The Improv Comedy & Theater Games class is TUESDAYS.  This is what’s on the calendar previously provided, but there was a data reconcile issue with the online registration system that has now been resolved.

Unfortunately, the Public Speaking & Debate class has cancelled due to instructor availability changes that just transpired.  The Rec Center is trying to find an alternative…but it’s challenging given the time frame.  More info. on that as/if it becomes available.

Madera Families,

We’re pleased to share the new “Early Spring Calendar” for MASEP (Madera Afterschool Enrichment Program).

The information will also follow later this week in the blue folder.

Registration (through the Recreation Center) is now OPEN. Early Spring MASEP session begins Tuesday, January 22.

Thanks to the efforts of the Recreation Center and the Madera MASEP parents’ workgroup, our Madera Principal and the support of teachers…we have continue to have predominantly “Madera onsite” options AND *new* offerings, including… Shakespeare: Henry V, Mandarin (now in two levels), Improv Comedy & Theater Games, Cooking Flavorful Adventures, Public Speaking & Debate, and Mad Science (Creatures of the Earth).

* Of course, classic and well loved MASEP offerings remain in the calendar.
* Note this session new classes for “upper graders” !

We hope children (and their families) will take a close look at the new offerings and consider these opportunities for learning and trying something new.
[We work closely with the instructors to provide fun and enriching experiences for *girls and boys* of all ages.]

Why consider MASEP?
— for Early Spring…NEW classes for upper grades (4-6th)!
— Classes are nearly all onsite at Madera, immediately following class dismissal. (This saves families transportation time and cost. Hopefully, this also helps with keeping evening and weekend schedules less hectic.)
— Children enjoy and appreciate sharing and learning with their Madera classmates and other friends.
— Convenient option for children to explore new ideas, skills and expand horizons.  If your child is interested but a bit hesitant, try enrolling him/her with a good friend!  [Some classes are perfect for pairing and teams, for example, in “Lego Robotics” girl teams can compete against boy teams…makes things extra lively!]

Got ideas for MASEP?
We’re eager to hear from families as well as teachers with ideas/activities/classes/courses to pursue for Madera student enrichment classes.
