2:40pm – 3:30pm
Hello Madera Community,
Our third graders are working hard to prepare for our first farmers market of the year which will be held on Friday, March 1st from 2:40-3:30 (or until the produce runs out.) As many of you discovered last year this is a great event that helps our students to grow their gardening and business skills and all of the money raised goes toward garden projects. If you are wondering how to help, let me make a few suggestions:
1. Come out to the market and buy produce from us.
2. Volunteer the day of the market (3/1) to help package up fruits and veggies or help student-farmers to manage the produce tables. Email me directly if you can do this.
2. Donate produce grown in your garden without pesticides or herbicides. If you have extra lemons, chard, herbs, or other fruit/veggies, please drop it off either Thursday (2/28) when school gets out or Friday (3/1) in the morning. If you have questions about this, please shoot me an email.
3. Donate something that we need so we don’t have to strain our budget even further. Here’s what we still need:
Please help us to make this first market a success. Shoot me an email and let me know what you can do before we go on break!
