  • Disaster Prep Needs Help!
    Thursday, June 6, 2013 | 8:30am; ISO Backpacks & Stock Pots
I am looking for several volunteers to help me on Thursday, June 6 after the morning bell.  Disaster Prep Kits need to be returned to the classrooms to be sent home with the students, and we need to move 300+ gallons of expired water jugs from the emergency supply shed to the garden where they can be used this summer for watering our non-edible plants.  Fortunately the shed is near the garden!  Then we’ll move the new water storage containers to the shed.  (They will remain empty until either the last week of summer break or the 1st week of school.)  If you are able to help with this, please contact me at

Also, many of the classroom emergency backpacks are nearing the end of their useful life and ideally should be replaced (there is 1 per classroom).  We are also in need of a few tall cooking stock pots with a diameter of 12″-14″ for reconstituting the long-term emergency food (rice & oatmeal).  If you have a gently used, clean, durable, adult-sized backpack you can donate, or a stock-pot, please contact me at
