Two Ways to Support Healthy Eating at Madera!

CookingVeggiesHello Madera Community,

Big things are happening this year with our Outdoor Classroom Program, and with our work to be a healthier, greener school in general.

First of all, let me introduce you to Farmigo – an innovation that I hope makes healthy, local eating a reality for many of us at our school. Farmigo, an online farmer’s market, is coming to Madera Elementary. Farmigo is a certified BCorp that delivers fresh, seasonal, produce sourced from local farms once a week. Simply order the produce/items you want online and it will be delivered to Madera Elementary every Tuesday.

There are no minimums, no commitments, & no delivery fee.

As a special deal for Madera Elementary members, sign up today and enter the coupon code BCK2FRESH to get $5 off an order of $30 or more. If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email. We need at least twenty orders to start the deliveries, so if you are interested, be sure to sign up for the first delivery on Tuesday, September 24th.

Also, just in case you missed it, we are trying to get a mobile cooking cart for our students to use at lunch time and in the classrooms. This cart would be stocked with all of the utensils and gadget our young chefs would need to make healthy, delicious food. Just add water!

Please support our Donor’s Choose campaign and make this dream a reality. For the next week, any donation you make to our project will be doubled (up to $100). If you know anyone who is passionate about education, please pass this along. Your donation will brighten my students’ school year, and you’ll get photos and thank you’s from our class.

Here’s my classroom request:

To have your donation matched dollar for dollar, enter the match code INSPIRE on the payment screen. This awesome match offer lasts through September 11, 2013.

Thank you so much for your support. If you have any questions, about either of these projects, please email me, by clicking here.

Happy eating,

Molly
