First Farmers Market of the Year!

Hello Madera Community,

We are gearing up for our first market of the year, and the third grade farmers are super excited.  Here are the details:

What: Madera Farmers Market
When: Friday, April 25th from dismissal to 3:30
Where: In the Madera Garden

Our farmers will be selling their freshly picked produce for $3 each- lettuce, beets, carrots, kale, more lettuce, radishes, peas, spinach, leeks, spring onions, herbs, and even more lettuce.

In addition, we will be selling herbal cooking products, salts, eggs, some freezer jams, t-shirts, and Ms. Molly’s famous tomato seedlings.  These items will run from .50 cents an egg up to $5 for shirts and tomato plants.

Jamba Juice will be selling smoothies (for $3 each) and Barefoot Books will be selling their great children’s books (variable pricing- we get a percentage of all books sold.)

So, bring your cash and a bag to take all of your market items home in!

Last up, we could use some help with this event.  Volunteers who can help during harvest (Friday, April 25th from 12-1), packaging (Friday, April 25th from 1 to 2:30), and the market itself (Friday, April 25th from 2:30-3:30) are SO VERY needed.  It takes many hands to pull this event off because we want our produce to be super-fresh.  Email me if you can help.  Also, if you have home-grown produce that is pesticide/herbicide free that you would like to donate to the market, that would be great.  In the past, folks have donated herbs, chard, lemons, and loquats.  Email me if you can donate something.

We look forward to seeing all of you there!  To contact me, shoot me an email by clicking here.

Thank you,
Molly Wahl
