Hi caring citizens,
We have friends from our preschool coop whose son has been fighting leukemia since Kindergarten. His name is Baylor and he is currently in 2nd grade in the east bay.
In Kindergarten he was diagnosed with AML Leukemia and went through numerous Chemo treatments at Children’s Hospital, having to stay there for months on end. Finally, he went into remission. Yay!! However, the cancer has come back and now he needs a bone marrow transplant ASAP. His sister was tested, but is not a match. All family and friends are tapping their resources to help find a match for him.
Baylor is German/Japanese and ideally needs a perfect Match with the same background, but any Asian/Caucasian mix “HAPA” would be great, too!
The reason why I am writing to you is to pass along this dire situation we have and if you are affiliated or know of any organizations that have a good flow of traffic, hopefully of the HAPA ethnicities, it would be even better. We can contact them and set up a donor drive.
Or, even faster, please have them contact this link and plan a registration drive:
To register at a drive you must be between 18-44.
Over 44 years old please register online www.aadp.org/homekit
You may let me know of any contacts you may have.
Please get back to me as soon as possible, as his current chemo sessions have already started and time is of the essence.
You can follow any information about Bone Marrow Drives and updates about Baylor by liking his Facebook Page.
Thank you so much and consider, please, getting swabbed yourself as it could save the life of someone in the world fighting blood cancer.
Thank you so much,
