Hello Madera Community,
I would like to invite all of you to a day of getting our school grounds ready for the first day of school. One of my goals this year is to inspire a sense of stewardship around our shared green spaces. At this point, we have a number of outdoor places around campus that need to be actively maintained- and as we continue to pursue our vision of a green campus, the number will only increase. So, join us as we work toward improving our little patch of earth:
Back to School Beautification Day
Saturday, August 16th
We will be gathering at the top of the main garden which is located at the front of the school next to the main office building.
We will tackle both of the native landscapes in the front of the school, we will add mulch to areas that need some weed suppression, pick up trash, and plant some new shrubs and flowers. There will also be some work projects in the main garden area if folks are interested.
We will have some tools, although if you have special pruners or weed removal equipment, please bring them.
All Madera students and siblings need to be supervised by their own parent/guardian.
Bagels, cream cheese, juice, coffee, and fruit will be provided. Please RSVP (shoot an email to me at firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are planning on attending so that accurate amounts of food/supplies can be prepared.
Building community one garden space at a time,
Molly Wahl, Madera Garden Coordinator
