We’re streamlining communications this year!
We know the key to your child’s success is open communication between home and school. In an effort to save paper and time (yours and our volunteers), we will be sending out messages less often and on a more predictable basis. – It’s important that we have your most current contact information!
Five ways you can expect to receive information this school year:
#1 Blue Folder:
FRIDAY. The Blue Folder will be reserved primarily for forms that need to be returned and for teacher / classroom communications. Ordinarily it is sent home on Friday afternoons and forms that need to be filled out should be returned the following Monday (in the paper blue folder), or as specified. Please review the forms and flyers, signing those that require a signature, and return them in the blue folder to school when due.
#2 Monthly Calendar:
MONTHLY. Every month we will send home a calendar in the Blue Folder, of Madera events. Stick it up on your fridge to always know what’s coming up.
#3 E-Newsletter (Madera Message):
MONDAY. Madera Message will be sent by e-mail newsletter on Monday mornings every week. Keep track of what’s happening at Madera. You will get the latest updates, messages from Principal Makela, and important deadline reminders – right to your inbox. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter through Mail Chimp! You can also view archived messages here: maderaschool.org/blue-folder-forms/monday-messages/
#4 Madera Facebook Page:
On our Facebook page, you can see cute school pictures and information on community events, and it’s a great way to engage with fellow parents. Click on the Facebook icon at the top of this page.
#5 Madera Website:
This website is going to be your go-to place for all communications. It’s a great resource for up-to-date information. If you missed anything, you’ll be able to find it on the new and improved website. You can see the entire school calendar (available as Google Calendar that can be synced to your phone), more information about our school clubs, as well as forms that will be available as printable PDFs. Subscribe to the website to receive notifications of new posts by email. (the middle of the blue boxes on the right >)
Please remember that sometimes things slip through the cracks. Dates and times sometimes change last minute. We will do our best to communicate events with you as best we can. But we are human, and we are volunteers.
