Madera Elementary Lower Yard
Madera vs. Harding vs. Kensington vs. Fairmont
Important Update (2/28/18): After much debate and worry, we’ve come to a decision to postpone the Boot Classic until May.
The weather report is looking like it’s going to storm. And we all know that black top gets very slippery and unsafe when wet. We’d really hate for a kid to be running for first and slip and fall. Right now it says 70% chance of thunderstorms in the morning, clear up by midday. But most of our event is in the morning.
I know it seems a little premature to cancel, but we wanted to give everyone enough notice. I’m really sorry. I know the kids will be disappointed. You can tell them it will give them more time to get their A game together for May.
All the best,
Unofficial Boot Classic Organizer
Now in it’s 6th year, it’s time for The Boot Classic: The Annual Unofficial Invitational Kickball Tournament between Kensington, Harding, Fairmont, and Madera.
The Boot Classic is back on Saturday, March 3 from 9:00 – 1:30 at Madera Elementary School’s Lower Yard. First game starts promptly at 9:30! Teams are both girls and boys in 4th – 6th grades.
Come and support Madera as they defend the title of the Boot Classic Winners from 2017.
The Boot Classic is an Olympic system or knockout tournament and each school is to field their own team. This is the kid’s game. They made the rules and started the tournament. All the players should have a great day out and the parents, alumni and friends should encourage good cheer and sportsmanship! We’ll have Playworks Coaches ensuring fair play. We also would like to encourage teams who aren’t playing to participate as spectators.
We may be getting rain this year but all should note that we will take the date as it comes.
This year, rather than a taco truck, The Madera Kitchen will be preparing and serving organic healthy lunches for purchase.
The menu includes two menu options from which to purchase for $10/meal.
- Chicken salad SANDWICH
- Hearty Veggie SALAD
Both options include organic chips and drink.
Please remember to bring cash or checkbooks to purchase the amazing creations by Chef RJ!
Please bring extra snacks, warm clothing, blankets and/or camp chairs. Come out and support Madera and have fun!
